The present invention relates to a method for driving a new type of virtual mouse which can be operated irrespective of skin color and in ordinary environments that have disturbances. The method for driving the virtual mouse according to the present invention which is controlled on the basis of a change in hand shape includes the steps of: receiving a plurality of images which are photographed at different points by a camera; extracting the differences between the images from among the plurality of images; and driving the virtual mouse on the basis of the extracted image difference.
