The method involves directly connecting an asynchronous motor and a synchronous generator (G) with one another, so that generated frequency is higher than nominal frequency of the asynchronous motor. The asynchronous motor is started by using energy that is stored in a flywheel. A three-phase motor (DSM) is started by the synchronous generator. A gear box is connected between the synchronous generator and a flywheel to allow the flywheel to move at rotation speed independent of pole pairs of the synchronous generator.
