The device (18) has a short circuit current path (26) electrically connecting contact members (20, 22) i.e. contact bushes, and comprising a displaceable short circuit bridge element for isolating the short circuit current path from the contact members by displacing short circuit bridge element. The short circuit bridge element is overlapped by a screening device (34) and displaceable by counter-contact structures i.e. contact pins, slid into a recess (36) or a structure i.e. wall, of a counter electrical connector device rigidly connected with the counter-contact structures. An independent claim is also included for an electrical device comprising a housing.
