The tape (20) has a longitudinal-sided edge (R) for a side of a foot mat (10) and comprising end-sided and border-sided edge strips (21, 22) with same or different colors. The end-sided strip is formed by a weather strip or a cord (40) that is sewn to the border-sided strip by a fastening seam (N1). The weather strip or cord has layers connected with one another, where entire breadth of the weather strip or the cord corresponds to breadth of one of the edge strips in a usage position. Upper, front and lower sides (20O, 20S, 20U) of the tape are formed analog to an edge area of the mat. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement of a bordering tape to an edge area of a foot mat.
