The handle has a handle piece (3) movably mounted on a door handle bearing (2). The handle piece cooperates with a motor car side door (1) or with a motor car lock (5) to operate the handle piece over an actuation force transmission chain (6) in an installed state. A transmission section of the transmission chain is deactivated in a rest state of the handle in such a manner that the transmission section disrupts and/or disables the transmission chain. An operation movement of the handle piece is freely-ran or blocked in the transmission section during deactivation of the transmission section.
