LIGHT DIFFUSION FILM, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE LIGHT DIFFUSION FILM, LIGHT-DIFFUSING POLARIZATION PLATE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

Disclosed is a light diffusion film having a base material film (101) and a light diffusion layer (102), which is laminated on the base material film (101), and which has translucent fine particles (104) dispersed in a translucent resin (103). The translucent fine particles (104) have a weight-average particle diameter (r) of 5 µm or more but less than 15 µm, and the light diffusion layer (102) is obtained by applying a resin liquid to the base material film, and curing the liquid, said resin liquid containing the translucent resin and the translucent fine particles and having a viscosity of 15-100 mPa·s at 25°C. The average thickness (d) of the light diffusion layer is 10-20 µm, and has a thickness nonuniformity (A) of 20 % or less, said thickness nonuniformity being defined by the following formula: A (%)=100×(maximum thickness-minimum thickness)/maximum thickness. A light-diffusing polarization plate and a liquid crystal display device having the light diffusion film applied thereto are also disclosed. With the present invention, the light diffusion film and the like having a high front contrast, a wide view angle and excellent visibility, and do not generate color nonuniformity can be provided.
