<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always align paper at a minimum alignment distance without depending on the conveying displacement of paper. <P>SOLUTION: This paper aligning device 1 includes a paper conveying means 11 having a conveying roller pair 11a for gripping and conveying the paper P in the conveying direction X, and an aligning means 14 that consists of a pair of alignment plates, reciprocates in the paper width direction Y, receives, at a paper receiving position, the paper P conveyed from the paper conveying means 11, abuts on a side edge of the paper P, and performs alignment of the width direction. The paper aligning device 1 also includes a side edge detecting means 13 that is arranged at the front stage of the aligning means 14 in the conveying direction X and detects the side edge of the paper P delivered from an image forming device 100, and a control section 16 for moving and controlling the alignment plates 14a so that the distance between the side edge and the alignment plates 14a of the aligning means 14 becomes the minimum alignment distance required for the alignment based on the edge position information for indicating the side edge position of the paper P detected by the side edge detecting means 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
