<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an A/D conversion device and a method of the A/D conversion device, a solid state imaging device and a method for driving the solid state imaging device, and a camera system in which a P-phase variation amount and a vertical line amount, in an intermittent column operation, can be reduced, resulting in an improvement in image quality. <P>SOLUTION: An ADC group 150 includes: plural comparators 151 which are respectively arranged corresponding to columns of pixels and which each compares and determines a read-out signal potential and a reference voltage and outputs the determination signal; and plural counters 152 whose operations are controlled by outputs of the comparators 151 and which respectively count comparison time units of the corresponding comparators 151. A comparator 200 (151) includes cascade-connected first and second amplifiers, and, by independently controlling, in parallel, by a basic unit of a horizontal intermittent operation, an initialization signal to be applied to a switch (AZ switch) for initialization (AZ) for determining an operation point for each column at an operation start point, fixes only the AZ switch of a non-operative comparator to be off at a non-operation start time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
