[Also in Division C5] Phenols are reacted with compounds containing two or more unsaturated hydrocarbon radicals separated by a radical containing a polar group, at 120-230‹ C. in presence of an acid aluminium silicate. The products, which appear to be bisphenols or trisphenols, may be oxyalkylated by reaction with, e.g. ethylene or propylene oxide. |
