The method involves detecting human movement by a pyro-sensor (1), and releasing a card slot for a defined time by a control electronic unit (2). A lifting magnet of a mechanical switching block (3) is energized, and a locking bolt is moved. The locking bolt of the lifting magnet is provided in a locking position during non-detection of the human movement and during running input of a credit card. The mechanical switching block is provided in the locking position. The card slot is evaluated and blocked by a control input by the control electronic unit during low level.
