The air valve has a rotary cylinder (8) that rotates the flap elements (3,6,7) provided within the air duct (2). A seal portion (9) is provided in closed state within the edge areas (4,5) of the flap elements, for sealing the air duct with respect to air flow direction (12). An arcuate wall (3) is arranged within the seal portion that is made of resilient material. A sealing lip portion (13) secured to the arcuate wall is positioned against a stopping portion (14) of the air duct.
