The method involves providing chamfered portions (15) at edges of opposite cut surfaces (25) perpendicular to a layer plane of multi-layered composite structure (12). A cutting wire with a wire section is penetrated through the composite structure with respect to perpendicular direction of a layer plane, for cutting the composite structure. The diameter of cutting wire section is adjusted corresponding to penetration depth of cutting wire into composite structure, to reach the cutting location. The cutting material is made of zirconium oxide or diamond powder.
