FIELD: mining. ^ SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of a dump base, arrangement of drains around it for discharge of precipitation, storage of loose materials inclined to self-ignition on this base, arrangement of the dump with its longer axis in direction of dominant winds, covering of the dump with an airproof layer of the specially prepared fines with its subsequent compaction. Fines for development of the airproof cover are produced from the stored material directly in process of formation of a cone-shaped dump in bulk on top due to segregation, when large fractions are distributed in the lower part of the dump and form the airproof area in the side slopes of the dump base. Fine airproof fractions are distributed in the upper part of the dump, which are then used to insulate the lower air-permeable area from air oxygen by means of its coverage with the airproof fines moved from the upper conical part of the dump. ^ EFFECT: reduced labour intensiveness and cost of fire prevention works and higher efficiency of dumps protection against self-ignition. ^ 2 dwg |
