<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for an electrical component with no risk that an upper contact part of a contact pin is removed from a through hole of a floating plate even when the contact pin is short during transportation before mounted to a wiring board. <P>SOLUTION: An IC socket 11 has a socket body 14, which is provided on a wiring board and in which an IC package is housed. The socket body 14 has a contact pin unit 19 provided with a plurality of contact pins 20 electrically connecting an IC package terminal and the wiring board. The contact pin unit 19 has a unit main body 21, on which the plural contact pins 20 are provided; a floating plate 22, which is provided on an upper side of the unit main body 21, in which the IC package is housed, and which has a through hole 22a for inserting the upper contact part 20a of the contact pin 20; and a holding mechanism 23 holding the floating plate 22 under a descent condition before mounted to the wiring board, and canceling the holding condition after mounted to the wiring board to move the floating plate 22 upward and downward while energized upward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
