The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism containing a Cornebacterium induced novel indole oxygenase gene, and a method for preparing indirubin using same, and more particularly, to a method for preparing an indigoid compound, especially indirubin, comprising the following steps: preparing a recombinant vector for simultaneously expressing indole oxygenase and tryptophanase induced from Escherichia coli; developing a transgenic recombinant Corynebacterium glutamicum KS 405 (accession number: KCTC-11795BP) using same; and cultivating in a medium containing tryptophan.
