The device has an output characteristic adjuster e.g. offset digital to analog converter, adjusting amplification factor used by a fuel pressure sensor (S1) for converting fuel pressure into a sensor signal and an offset potential for the sensor signal. A controller e.g. microcomputer (25), transmits command information to the sensor, where the information specifies desired values of the factor and offset potential. The controller sets the factor and the offset potential to the desired values by the adjuster during reception of the information through a communication device of the sensor.
