The arrangement (30) has a reader unit (12) for reading a magnetic stripe and/or smart cards, and a receiver coil (18) arranged in an electromagnetic field produced by a transmitter coil (16), where the receiver coil produces a signal in dependence of the electromagnetic field. Sensors (32, 34) i.e. strain gauges, produce another signal based on changes of a relative position of the transmitter coil and the receiver coil with respect to each other and/or deformations of the coils. A control unit (24) determines existence of a metal comprising unit i.e. skimming module, based on the signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting metal comprising units such as skimming modules.
