The detector (1) has a chamber element (7) comprising a chamber body (71) arranged on a front surface of a bumper reinforcement unit (4). A pressure sensor (8) detects pressure in a chamber space defined in the chamber element and provides a detection result corresponding to recognition of a collision with a bumper (2). The chamber element has a set of exchange holes that are opened on a lower surface of the chamber body, where opening size of the exchange hole arranged at a higher position is less than opening size of other exchange holes.
