PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for assisting the driving of a vehicle are provided to prevent accidents by warning a driver of the red or yellow lighting state of a traffic signal. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(100) for assisting the driving of a vehicle comprises an acceleration sensor(110), a camera(120), a control unit(130), and an output unit(140). The acceleration sensor senses the acceleration change of a vehicle. The camera photographs the surroundings of the vehicle. The control unit confirms the driving state of the vehicle by receiving the signal from the acceleration sensor and generates a driving guide signal depending on the confirmed driving state of the vehicle. The output unit outputs the driving guide signal inputted from the control unit. |
