1,137,102. Vacuum switches; electromagnetically operated switches. V. V. EFREMOV and L. A. POZNYAK. 12 Jan., 1966, No. 1416/66. Heading H1N. A vacuum switch comprises a pair of ferromagnetic cores 6 movably mounted within an evacuated envelope 7 located inside electromagnetic coils 5, the ends of the cores forming abutting contacts. Energisation of coils 5 moves the cores into engagement. The cores 6 are hollow and are supported and connected to terminal rods 8 by pairs of conical shaped helical springs 9. The coils 5 are enclosed with annular magnetic conductors 1, 3 and are supported and spaced from the envelope 7 by jointless resilient sheaths 2, 4 of insulating material. The cores are of low-carbon steel and move frictionlessly within envelope 7. |
