The device (10) has a unit for guiding a powder-air-mixture (24) and comprising a charge electrode (30) for electrical charging of powder (22). A deflecting unit (32) is arranged downstream to the charge electrode for deflecting the powder-air-mixture. A diaphragm (52) engaging in a stream of the powder-air-mixture is attached to the deflecting unit. The diaphragm is adjusted such that the diaphragm engages more or less far in the stream of the powder-air-mixture. The diaphragm is equipped with a disposal device (46) i.e. suction device.
