Strake End for Reliable installation of the cargo containment of Membrane LNG Carriers

PURPOSE: A strake end for manufacturing a cargo hold of a membrane-type LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) carrier is provided to prevent fatigue failure of barriers by removing stress concentration caused by discontinuous shape. CONSTITUTION: A strake end for manufacturing a cargo hold of a membrane-type LNG carrier comprises a plurality of traverse corrugations(101) formed at regular intervals on a side and a joint slot(103) which is formed from one end to the traverse corrugations. The other end of the strake end is welded to an end of a corner plate while the one end is welded to the other end of strakes(11). An end of a tongue(12) and the other ends(110) of the strakes are inserted in the joint slot and welded to the traverse corrugations.
