PURPOSE: A blueberry extract with an effect of preventing and treating hyperuricemia is provided to reduce blood uric acid and to prevent gout. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating hyperuricemia contains blueberry extract as an active ingredient. The blueberry extract is isolated using water, alcohol or mixture solvent thereof. The alcohol is low alcohol of C1-C4. A functional food for preventing and treating hyperuricemia contains blueberry extract and sitologically acceptable food additive.
