<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gas from flowing out of a disk drive. <P>SOLUTION: A spindle motor 12 for a disk drive comprises: a stationary part; a bearing mechanism fixed to the stationary part; and a rotation part that is supported in a way that allows rotation about a central axis to the stationary part through the bearing mechanism. The stationary part comprises; a base part 21; a stator fixed on the base part; and wiring extending from a coil of the stator. The base part is part of a housing that forms an airtight internal space in the disk drive, the wiring is arranged along a surface on the internal space side of the base part and the base part comprises a concave part 23 on the internal space side. A bottom part of the bearing mechanism is fixed in the concave part by press fit and adhesion methods, and in a central axis direction, an adhesion area 231a between the bearing mechanism and the concave part is larger than a press fitting area 231b in width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
