<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air lift pump with high energy efficiency while the pump device can be miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: The air lift pump includes a column pipe 3, an air-charging unit 3b, a transfer flow passage 5 for transferring the air-liquid two-phase flow in the horizontal direction, and an air-liquid separation chamber 10 for separating air and liquids into the transfer flow passage 5.
