<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a wavelength selection switch being simple and inexpensive and having a light-weight compact configuration, where the number of ports is large though a plurality of wavelength selection switches are not used. <P>SOLUTION: The wavelength selection switch comprises: a light input/output unit (10) including wavelength-multiplexed light input parts and output parts arranged in an array in a first direction; light dispersing means (15) which separates wavelength-multiplexed light inputted from the input parts into respective signal wavelengths; a converging element (16) which converges light separated to the signal wavelengths; and a light deflecting element array (17) which deflects signal light in the first direction so that respective signal wavelength light beams converged by the converging element (16) are switched to desired output parts. A plurality of light deflecting elements of the light deflecting element array (17) are arrayed in the first direction with respect to a luminous flux converged by the converging element (16). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
