<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reading well an image even when a relative travel speed between an image to be read and an imaging device to read the image is changed. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: an imaging device 21 which accumulates light from an image as a charge by photoelectric conversion and transfers the accumulated charge as data; timing control means (23,24) which controls a timing of the charge accumulation and the data transfer in the imaging device 21, and an operation of the imaging device 21 is switched between a first mode in which data transfer of the accumulated charge is performed in parallel with next charge accumulation and a second mode in which data transfer of the accumulated charge is performed prior to next charge accumulation. In the device, the timing control means delays, when it becomes the next timing of the charge accumulation during data transmission in the second mode, the start of the charge accumulation until a prescribed time elapses. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
