PURPOSE: A fire detection system and a method thereof are provided to accurately detect a fire by monitoring the fire and determining fire situations through a display screen and avoid a wrong response and when a dangerous situation is detected. CONSTITUTION: A camera(110) takes a photograph of the surrounding environment for installation and offers an image. An action detection sensor(120) uses a fire factor, which is detected from the image offered from the camera, as a recognition and verification device for fire detection. An image recognition part(130) receives the output signal of the action detection sensor and the camera. The image recognition part captures the image inputted from the camera, detects an image in a mobile area, and determines whether the image is the fire factor. An operation signal processing part(150) determines whether a detected image is the image in the fire area. An operation signal processing part also determines and calculates whether the action detection sensor reacts or not and computes. The operation signal processing part processes the pattern analysis and fire alarm generation about a fire area image with a signal according to the calculating.
