PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a high-definition stereoscopic image in an integral photography method.

SOLUTION: This stereoscopic image pickup and display device includes: a beam splitter 120 splitting a light flux arriving from a subject O into two systems; an image pickup system lens array 130 for converting one separated light flux into a light flux of parallax image group; a parallax image group image-pickup element 140 capturing the light flux of the parallax image group to acquire the parallax image group; a plane image-pickup element 150 for capturing the other separated light flux to acquire a plane image; a parallax image group display element 240 for displaying the parallax image group; a display system lens array 250 for converting the light flux of the parallax image group into the light flux of a stereoscopic image; a plane image display element 260 for displaying the plane image; and a beam mixer 270 for emitting the light flux of the stereoscopic image in conjunction with the light flux of the plane image.
