<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the external dimension of an image scanner in a carriage moving direction is long to secure a space for a curved shape to be shaped in a housing so that a flexible flat cable does not contact the inside of the housing. <P>SOLUTION: An image reader includes a flexible flat cable 14 which is a signal cable and has plural lead wires covered by an insulator, and in which a curved shape of a curved part changes according to back-and-forth movement of a carriage 9, and a fixing part 13 which fixes the flexible flat cable 14 to the carriage 9. The flexible flat cable 14 is fixed by the fixing part 13 so that a line direction of the lead wires of the flexible flat cable 14 at a position M1 protruding from the fixing part 13 is in a direction intersecting a moving direction D1 of the carriage 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
