<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer package of a battery which prevents deterioration of battery performance by releasing gas generated inside the battery. <P>SOLUTION: The outer package of the battery consists of a rectangular molded container body with a flange part, and a lid approximately as large as the molded container body. The outer package houses a battery element with an anode and a cathode inside a recess of the rectangular molded container body, projects metal terminals connected to each of the anode and the cathode outside from the flange part, is covered with the lid, and is sealed at a peripheral thermo-adhesive part provided in the flange part. The outer package of the battery has: a non-adhesion area in the peripheral thermo-adhesive part provided in at least one periphery; gas releasing means in the peripheral thermo-adhesive part for partitioning the non-adhesion area and the recess part of the rectangular molded container body; and a communication port for communicating the non-adhesion area and the outside provided in the peripheral thermo-adhesive part for partitioning the non-adhesion area and the outside. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
