[Also in Divisions C3 and D1] The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein A 1 and B 1 are each aromatic (carbocyclic or heterocyclic) or aralkenyl residues, and R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are H, C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-4 alkoxy. These compounds are prepared by ring-closing (by heating with a dehydrating agent) the corresponding diacylhydrazine, the latter being obtained by reacting A 1 -CO-halide or A 1 CONHNH 2 with the appropriate coumaricderived acid hydrazide or acid halide, respectively. |
