The invention relates to silicate industry, particularly to the production of metakaolin - desalting filler of ceramic mixtures at preparation of articles with light or multicolor finish, and also resistant to weather filler for multifunctional decorative coatings (paint, filling paint, plaster) with purpose of increasing of their performance characteristics. The object of the proposed invention is the development of process for the preparation of metakaolin with increased resistant to weather by means of temperature-time mode determination, allowing producing resistant ultrafine crystal phase and also decreasing of power consumption to the process by the establishment of optimum temperature baking interval of the initial substance. The problem is solved that in the known process for the production of metakaolin, comprising heat treatment of kaolin according to the invention the heat treatment of kaolin is carried out at temperature of 780-850 °C for 15-20 min. with rate of temperature rise of 10-15 °C/min. with following grinding of product to sieve residual № 008 is less than 8-10 %. The process for the production of metakaolin allows decreasing of maximum temperature of kaolin heat treatment from 900 to 780-850 °C, increasing of specific surface area upon the average to 28-42 % and increasing of metakaolin activity to 12-24 %. |
