PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress increase in circuit scale of a receiver corresponding to both of the data transmission that uses single carrier and the data transmission that uses multicarrier.

SOLUTION: In a calculation part 74, the calculation for acquiring information used for equalizing is performed using the signal of time domain based on an input signal and the signal after equalization from an equalizing part 71 at the time when receiving data that has been transmitted by single carrier transmission. At the time of receiving data that has been transmitted by multicarrier transmission, the calculation for acquiring the information used for equalization is performed using the signal in frequency band based on the equalized signal from a division part 73 and the input signal. In the equalizing part 71 and a division part 73, equalization is performed using the information obtained from a calculation part 74 respectively. The present invention can be applied to a receiver adaptive to single carrier transmission and multicarrier transmission.
