<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical heating device having high thermal efficiency and higher heating power, which facilitates a compact structure and can be configured in a simple manner. <P>SOLUTION: The electrical heating device includes housings 2, 4, which enclose a circulation chamber 32 through which a medium can flow, a plurality of heating ribs 44 extend into the circulation chamber 32 in parallel with one another. The plurality of heating ribs 44 are alternately protrude inward from oppositely situated inner faces 46 of the housing 2, 4. The flow passage 56 of a meandering flow channel 40 formed in the housing 2, 4 is formed between the free ends of the heating ribs 44 and the adjacent inner wall of the housing 2, 4.
