PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing drum, a printing unit, a printer and a method of manufacturing the printing drum, in which installation accuracy of the printing plate or a bracket to the printing drum can be improved while preventing dislocation between the printing drum and the printing plate or bracket.

SOLUTION: In the plate drum 12 having a cylindrical shape and including a recessed portion 33 for fastening a printing plate 31 provided on an outer circumferential portion along the axial direction, a rough portion 49 having a predetermined surface roughness is formed in an area of the outer circumferential surface except for the recessed portion 33 including edge portions 46, 47.
