PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus, an image forming apparatus, an image processing apparatus control method, and an image processing apparatus control program capable of prompting a user to look at an advertisement.

SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus obtains images on first and second surfaces from a document (S1), and determines a size that is larger than that corresponding to the images on the first and second surfaces as the size of a sheet to be output (S9). The image processing apparatus processes images so that the first surface image is arranged in a first area on the surface of the sheet to be output, and the second surface image is arranged in a second area on the backside of the sheet to be output (S11 and S13). The image processing apparatus processes images so that an advertisement image is arranged on an area other than the first area on the surface of the sheet to be output, and an area other than the second area on the backside of the sheet to be output (S15). The first and second areas are the areas which overlap one another when the sheets are held up to the light to be seen.
