The device (26) has a door pillar (12) arranged behind a wheel housing (20), and a longitudinal beam (14) extended above the wheel housing. The longitudinal beam comprises a corner stiffener (24) in a terminal portion (18) of the door pillar, and a supporting member (28) supports a vehicle wheel (22) during relocation of the vehicle wheel caused by an accident. The supporting member is supported in a corner region (30) in a lower-side of the corner stiffener and a front-side of the door pillar. The supporting member is arranged at the corner stiffener and partially on the door pillar.
