The simulator (10) has an elongated housing (11) provided with an inner space (12). A plunger assembly comprises three hydraulic pistons (20, 30, 40) that are coaxially arranged in the inner space. Spring units (80) are arranged to oppose a relative displacement of the pistons to a longitudinal end (11a) of the housing according to predesignated curve defined resistance. The first piston is supported at a functional element of the simulator over the second piston, and over the third piston during sliding operation of the first piston. An independent claim is also included for a brake system comprising a wheel brake.
