LIQUID CRYSTAL ALIGNING AGENT, POLYMER, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE POLYMER, LIQUID CRYSTAL ALIGNMENT FILM AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent having specific amic acid ester structure is provided to have excellent spreadability(printability) without damaging functions of a liquid crystal alignment film in spite of introducing amic ester structure. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent comprises a polymer having amic ester structure in which carboxy group in amic acid is esterified. The amic ester structure has at least one kind of structure selected from acetalester structure of the carboxy group, ketalester structure of the carboxy group, 1-alkylcycloalkylester structure of the carboxy group, and t-alkylester structure of the carboxy group. A manufacturing method of the polymer comprises a step of reacting a compound with an unsaturated double bond to polyamic acid or partially imidized polymer thereof.
