<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress uncomfortable feeling to a driver in inter-vehicle control cruise traveling which maintains an inter-vehicle distance between an own vehicle and a preceding vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The traveling control device for a vehicle, which controls the traveling of a hybrid vehicle having an engine 1 and a motor 2 as drive sources for transmitting drive forces to drive wheels includes: an inter-automobile distance control traveling means which is operated by the start operation of the driver, and automatically adjusts an inter-vehicle distance between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle to a target inter-vehicle distance; and a reaction force generation means which generates a reaction force with respect to a drive-force increase requirement of the driver according to the inter-vehicle distance during the operation of the inter-automobile distance control traveling means.
