PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor capable of changing background modes for reproducing background images.

SOLUTION: A background plane for storing background images is a storage area in which an L-area for storing an image for the left eye and an R-area for storing an image for the right eye are arranged side by side. The configuration of the background plane is defined for the whole background plane which is a storage area for images of two planes. The configuration of the background plane includes a background mode. A configuration mode setting API sets a background mode. The technology can be applied to a BD player etc., for reproducing a BD.
