The device has prismatic battery individual cells (1) i.e. pouch-cells, stacked to a cell stack, where each cell has an electrode stack. The individual cells comprise a non-conducting packaging foil with an outwardly-aligned sealed seam, where the foil encloses the electrode stack. A temperature control element has a pipe (8), and a heat-conducting element (6) is arranged in an area of a part of the sealed seam. The heat-conducting element stays in thermal-contact with parts of the electrode stack by the foil, and thermally connected with the pipe.
