The device (1) has light sources (3) e.g. LEDs, and a display region (A) that is rearwardly illuminated by the light sources. A control electronic unit is arranged for the light sources for varying light radiation power of the light source depending on an input signal to vary expansion of illuminated surfaces (L1-L4) on the display region. The illuminated surface is observed with an eyelet, and the light sources are arranged in such a manner that illuminated surfaces of the light sources on the display region are partially overlapped to each other.
