FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus includes a transparent image forming device for forming an image on a sheet using transparent toner in a certain amount per unit area; a manual selector for selecting an image area in which the image is to be formed by transparent toner, and for selecting the amount per unit area; a heating device for heating the image formed by transparent toner on the sheet; a glossing device for processing the image formed by transparent toner on the sheet such that gloss becomes higher than that achieved with the heating device; a mode selector for selecting a first mode in which the glossing device is not used, and a second mode in which the glossing device is used; and a control device for controlling the amount of transparent toner per unit area in the image area such that said amount is less than the given amount in the second mode. ^ EFFECT: eliminating image defect in an area in which the image is formed by transparent toner in an amount per unit area which is less than a given amount. ^ 4 cl, 17 dwg |
