<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that ensures proper electrical settings of a transfer part, and determines the settings in earlier timing than before. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus simultaneously carries out forced light emission and ATVC at the start-up of laser beam emission means.
