<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for manufacturing a lens array of stable quality with high productivity at a low cost by surely preventing the generation of an air pocket upon molding. <P>SOLUTION: In a molding method, a flat convex-shaped molding material 40 is inserted into a space between a lower die 12 and an upper die 13 each inserted into a sleeve 11 of a molding die assembly 10 to face each other, and a plurality of small lens molding recessed faces 13b formed at the molding face 13a of the upper die 13 are transferred. The method includes positioning and molding the lens array in such a manner that the surface center part 43 of the convex-shaped surface 42 in the flat convex-shaped molding material 40 is made coincident with the recessed face tip 13c at the center of the arrangement of the plurality of small lens molding recessed faces 13b in the upper die 13, so that the air in the small lens molding recessed faces 13b is promptly exhausted to the outer circumferential direction with the deformation of the flat convex-shaped molding material 40, and the generation of an air pocket at the small lens molding recessed faces 13b is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
