<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively analyze shape information of soot particulates floating in gas, and also to analyze absorption cross sectional areas of the soot particulates. <P>SOLUTION: Gas containing aerosol is introduced to the light of linear polarization passing through a light passage 1. A first incandescent light detection part 3 respectively measures S polarization and P polarization of incandescent light advancing in a first direction. A second incandescent light detection part 4 respectively measures S polarization and P polarization of incandescent light advancing in a second direction. An analysis part 7 performs processing to calculate an absorption cross sectional area of the aerosol through the use of the detection values of the S polarization and P polarization detected by the first incandescent light detection part 3 and the detection values of the S polarization and P polarization detected by the second incandescent light detection part 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
