<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress increase in power consumption during recording, and can control an ink temperature so that the ink temperature is optimal, and to provide a method for controlling the ink temperature of the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus ejects the ink based on recording data and records images on a recording medium. The image forming apparatus includes: a recording data analyzing unit analyzing an ink ejection rate on a recording medium based on the recording data; an ink temperature detection unit detecting the temperature of the ink; and a control unit heating or cooling the ink based on the ink ejection rate on the recording medium and the ink temperature and adjusting the ink temperature to a temperature perfect for image recording. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
