<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for interworking between cellular networks and wireless local area networks (WLANs). <P>SOLUTION: At least one cellular network 110, at least one of WLANs 130a and 130b, and an IP network 140 are deployed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU; 102) first establishes a connection to the WLAN 130a and a tunnel between an access point (AP; 132a) and a packet data gateway (PDG; 129) is established. The PDG 129 further establishes a tunnel to the IP network 140. The WTRU 102 then invokes a service which is delivered through the WLAN 130a.
